Cattleya is a genus of 48 species
distributed throughout mainland tropical America.
These epiphytic plants are usually found in wet forests in the tops of tall
trees.
Cultivate under intermediate conditions with lots of water during
growing season and less while resting.
Cattleyas and their hybrids are by far the most popular Orchids, the flowers
can reach about 7 inches in diameter and some are pleasantly fragrant. |
